A group of students from Thai Binh Duong University overcame many excellent competitors to win first prize at the program “KTV Say Hi Tiktoker – Creative Connection” organized by Khanh Hoa Radio and Television (KTV) on March 29th.

Ms. Thai Thi Le Hang, Provincial Party Committee Member, Director of Khanh Hoa Radio and Television (on the right of the photo), presented certificates to the first-prize winning group and the ‘Nha Trang travel’ TikToker.

In the digital era, the way people access information has changed significantly. While traditional newspapers and television were the primary sources of news in the past, social media, especially short-video platforms like TikTok, has now become a popular information channel. According to a DataReportal report in 2024, Vietnam has 76.2 million social media users (accounting for 75.2% of the population). Among them, approximately 50 million people are using TikTok, making this platform a crucial space for accessing information, learning, and entertainment. This shift not only affects user habits but also poses new demands on media organizations, requiring creativity, agility, and the ability to keep up with trends. To meet this trend, media and educational institutions are striving to create practical platforms that help young people develop digital content production skills. The program ‘KTV Say Hi Tiktoker – Connecting Creativity’ organized by KTV is a prime example.

The program offers a rare opportunity for students and content creation enthusiasts to connect with renowned TikTokers such as Hayho House, Nha Trang du hí, Lê Vy Nguyễn, Gia đình nhà mặn, Vi vu Nha Trang, Pu Mét Bảy, Tui là người Nha Trang, Riri Phương Trinh, Misha, and Thùy… During the program, students and TikTokers will also have the chance to experience modern television technologies firsthand, including virtual studios, 4K OB vans, and 360-degree cameras – professional tools that help produce high-quality content. The highlight of the event is the “One Day as a TikToker” challenge, where participating teams have only 60 minutes to brainstorm, film, edit, and finalize a video under the guidance of experienced TikTokers. This is a highly practical activity that demands creativity, teamwork, and flexible problem-solving skills under time pressure.

Starting to shoot the first footage…
Ms. Le Nguyen Phuong Thuy – a Marketing student – was excited about her experience as a director in the virtual studio.

Overcoming numerous competitors from universities across Khánh Hòa province, the student team from Thái Bình Dương University excellently won first prize in this challenge. Trần Ngọc Thiên Kim, a first-year student majoring in Multimedia Communications, shared: “During the exam process, our group brainstormed many different ideas to ensure that we not only accurately conveyed the message given by the organizers but also caught the ‘trend’ to make our product more appealing. Visiting and experiencing the billion-VND worth of equipment at KTV provided us with a wealth of valuable materials to incorporate into our group’s video.”

The victory of the Thái Bình Dương University student team in this program is a testament to the potential of the younger generation in the field of content creation, and it also serves as a foundation for further collaboration between the parties in the future, bringing more opportunities for students on their journey to conquer the modern communications industry.
